Information & Rules

Introduction

Hello Golfers!,
This page contains all of the information that you will need for the outing. Please keep in mind that because of commitments to the golf club, there will be no refunds for cancellations, unless your position is back filled by another person.
If it is raining or if you have doubts if the course will be open due to rain, please call the Pro Shop (972-292-3089).

The Raffle will be held as scheduled on April 23rd, in the Tournament room at the Frisco Lakes Golf Club. If we are rained out, we will attempt to arrange for all players to receive a free round of golf with cart at a later date during the normal weekday schedule or reschedule the Tournament to a later date.

This is a "4" person (coed) - best ball scramble, and as such it works better to have complete teams.

Therefore, if you have registered and are now unable to play, please contact Michael Grace (972-983-2609).
He will need to know, what team you are on, if you have a replacement or if he needs to assign someone from the waiting list.

  • Please arrive at the club between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

  • There will be a check-in table located inside the Tournament room. Everyone must check-in upon arrival. You will receive your starting location (tee box) at that time.

  • However, a mulligan CANNOT be used in the process of winning any contest / gimmick hole!

  • A throw mulligan can be used anywhere on the course, except while on the green and is performed by the golfer “throwing” the ball, which is very handy for deep sand traps or nasty chip shots.

Practice:
  • The practice range and putting greens will also be available for your use.

  • Range balls will be distributed at the practice range.

  • Because of the limited size of these facilities, we ask that you please be courteous to others by limiting your practice time.

Scramble Start:
  • The golf carts will have name-tags and score cards on them and will be lined up according to starting position.

  • At 12:40 p.m. all players will board their golf carts and at 12:50 p.m. all carts be escorted to their starting positions by the Frisco Lakes GC staff.  At 1:00 p.m. everyone will begin play with a shotgun type start.

Birdie Tee:
  • At Hole #16, all the tee boxes require a tee-shot across a lake to a small island green. If you purchase a "Birdie Tee", you will be allowed to move up approximately 70 yards and just be left with a short 20 yard chip across the water to the green ...well worth your investment!
  • The cost of a "Birdie Tee" is $5/person.
  • Any Birdie Tee, must be purchased "prior" to the first person (from your team) teeing off.

Rules

To help make the tournament enjoyable and fair to everyone, we ask that you observe the following playing etiquette and rules:

  1. The dress code is casual; however, please refrain from wearing prohibited items
  2. All men will play the BLUE tees and all women will play the GREEN tees
  3. All players are allowed to improve their lie by moving the ball one-club length not nearer to the hole, except when in a hazard or on the green.  Also, a ball may not be moved onto the green using this rule.

  4. The two-putt rule is in effect.  If the ball is on the green after all teams members putt the first putt, if it is missed, the ball is to be picked-up and a total of two (2) strokes (this includes the first putt) added to the score for that hole.   (note: this rule promotes a faster tournament, for everyone)

  5. If a team plays a ball hit into a water hazard, out of bounds, or is lost, another ball will be dropped nearest to the point where the ball entered the hazard or was lost, and the team will take one penalty stroke.  Please limit the time searching for a lost ball to three minutes.

  6. Each player has the option of purchasing a maximum of two mulligans.  A mulligan is used to allow a player to erase a bad shot and try again.  Trading or using another foursome member’s mulligan is not allowed.

To use a mulligan, follow the steps below:

    • Declare to the other members of your team that you wish to use a mulligan to erase your previous shot.

    • Tear up the mulligan ticket and dispose of it properly

    NOTE:
The "Throw Mulligan" can only be obtained at check-in, with the purchase of both regular mulligans

  7. To qualify for The Closest to the Hole contest, you must be on the green and you may not have used a mulligan!

  8. To qualify for The Longest Drive contest, you must be in the fairway and you may not have used a mulligan!

  9. All players should replace divots and ball marks.

  10. Please make every attempt to keep up the pace of play as much as possible.
...Please limit the time taken to search for lost balls to three minutes.
...Marshals will be on the course to aid in speeding up play.
